Password Generator

Generate strong, random passwords that are created on your device and never stored or transmitted. Every selected character type is guaranteed to appear.

Very strong · about 130 bits of entropy from 89 possible characters

Generated on your device with crypto.getRandomValues. Each selected character type appears at least once. Passwords are never stored or transmitted and disappear when you leave the page.

How to generate a secure password

  1. Choose a length; 16 characters or more is recommended.
  2. Select uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
  3. Optionally exclude look-alike characters such as 0/O and 1/l/I.
  4. Generate, then copy the password into your password manager.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to generate passwords in a browser?

Yes, when the generator uses crypto.getRandomValues and runs locally, as DevKOM does. Passwords are kept only in this page's memory and disappear when you close or reload it.

What does the entropy figure mean?

It measures how hard the password is to guess by brute force, in bits. Each extra bit doubles the work. 80 bits or more is strong for most uses; 128 bits is beyond any practical attack.
