Frequently asked questions
How are words counted?
DevKOM uses the browser's Intl.Segmenter, which follows Unicode word-boundary rules. Hyphenated words and contractions count as one word, and it works for languages without spaces such as Chinese or Japanese.
How is reading time estimated?
At 238 words per minute for silent reading and 150 words per minute for speaking, common averages for English.
